A Bright Array

Yesterday evening Hannah and I took a trip to the hardware store to begin looking at paint colors for our new house. It was a fun adventure and a good break from thinking about all of the things we can’t control. As a result we have come away with a large pile of paint colors and renewed excitement for our new home.

A Deep Purple

The color of the sky just before lightning on a summer afternoon when the world waits for what is coming next.

Yesterday ended with a farewell to our long time family dog Emma. After 13 years of life and about 11 years with our family, Emma stopped breathing. She had a good life and was playing with our puppy up until the day before.

Emma will be missed, but we are glad that she didn’t have to suffer much before she passed.

A Neutral Grey

Imagine low hanging clouds without much character.

Today things have mostly gone back to normal and everything just feels a bit boring. We are also all a bit drained from last nights events and the cumulative effects of dealing with everything else.

Mis-Matched Greens

The uncoordinated colors of the nurses scrubs.

This morning I went in for the pulmonary test, that was ordered to determine the next steps in Chemo treatment with the BLEO drug. (BLEO is known to affect the lungs and in some cases to cause permanent damage.) If all goes according to plan the pulmonologist person will have a chance to read my results today and everything will be over to the cancer doctor before Tuesday.

It was a bit harder to breathe this time around than I remember it being the first time. Thankfully the lady doing the tests was able to reduce the order for a full work up down to just two of the tests, so instead of and hour it only took about ten minutes.

Palette Selection

As we go into this holiday weekend here are some things we are thinking about.

  • Wild Blueberry – We are thankful that Andrew has had a good week. Despite the let down of not being able to proceed with treatment.
  • Fresh Green – We are excited to have a relatively healthy long weekend.
  • Wood Paneling – We are hopeful that Andrew’s results will be read in a timely manner and that the Doctors with be able to determine the next steps in the process.
