Say Good Bye to Hair

What They Said

When we started the Chemo process they told us Andrew would likely loose his hair as soon as the Wednesday of the first week. After the first week Andrew’s hair was doing great and we thought maybe he would be one of the lucky few who wouldn’t loose his hair.

Yesterday it Began

Despite our optimism it was not to be. Yesterday Andrew began loosing his hair rapidly. So this evening, after pulling tufts off his head, we decided to shave it off. He still has some hair, but we expect the last little bits to fall out over the next few days.

Other News

Today was also Andrew’s first day back in the office since starting chemo. It went well, even though he did need to wear a mask.

Monday we were informed that Andrew’s White Blood Cell Counts and a number of other Markers are very low. This means extra precautions against getting sick and could lead to a delay in treatments if the numbers don’t rise.

Prayer Requests

We pray every day for good health and symptom management. Today we ask for prayers in the following:

  • That Andrew’s counts will rise so that treatment can continue on schedule.
  • The adjustment to loosing hair.
  • Prayers against catching anything while the counts are low.
  • Prayers for a successful few days at work before chemo starts up again.
